Since I loaded the AVG anti-virus programme I seem to have lost the start up on XP page where I had to type my password to log on. Does anyone know how I can get this feature back? Thank you Pudcat

Is it as you expect? Your user name password protected?

It does not say. I have'nt forgotten it, its just that the log on page no longer appears when I switch on.

I think I have solved the problem. via Control Panel / User Accounts / ticked the Welcome Screen / and then Apply Options
