i have msn hotmail. can i get a any sort of musical alert when i recieve my emails?

In Live Messenger, tools-options-alerts and sounds-new mail message. Then use the browse button at the bottom to pick your sound or music that you'd like to use. If you google for new mail notification there are thousands out there but be careful when choosing one that you're not getting anything else with it that you don't want.
