Changing email address
6 Answers
I receive hundreds of mail returns a day and have been told I'm probably on a 'spam list.' I have been advised to change my email address. How would I do this? My ISP is Orange.

if you are sending hundreds of e-mails a day and its nothing but forward's of chain e-mails. then you deserve to be on a barred list and wont be able to change anything.

There are many ways you can get a new email address - there are many web based email providers.
I particularly like gmail.

If you want to keep orange - just create a new email address:
http://www.orange.co.uk/communicate/email/webm ail/default.htm?linkfrom=communicate_email_def ault&link=link_1&article=communicatenav
Only give your email address to people who need to know - do not respond to spam mail.
I have a spare gmail address I use for sites that ask for an email address, but I have no intention of returning to the site. This keeps my main address free of rubbish.

Hi
I don't think it is a case of Lorcan sending loads of emails. I am with Orange as well and get stacks of Spam and rubbish - generally with what looks like made up names.
I personally think it is something to do Orange!
I have been with the same ISP since Freeserve to Wanadoo to Orange and it was when Orange took over that I started getting my Inbox flooded with rubbish!
Obviously they say it's nothing to do with them but when other people I know have got the same results as me then I am liable to think they are telling downright porkies (Orange that is not my friends lol)

Id say you are infected with a Spam bot that is sending emails from your account. What you are probably seeing is the response for emails sent with to no valid email address. A decent virus scan, Spyware scan should confirm this. Read the returned email to find out the original message, and its sender and recipient to assess if its just spam or your returned email. If its just spam then you need to change your email, and also get a second account to use for situations when giving your email could put you on a spam list. Keep the other for family, friends and people who dont send you spam.
