what the hell is the exeact difference? i want to buy some new ones for my sony camcorder, i know the +rw are better but they are dearer and not as easy to get hold of as the - rw. All i do is record on my camcoder, transfere to a normal dvd (via dvd recorder and telly) then i delete what is on the mini dvd and use again! So basically could i use a -rw for this?

It depends on whether your equipment will write to -RW.

Many can read all formats, but only write to one. Read the manual.

Technically the + discs are better as they have better data integrity checks built into the standard specification. However, the - discs are more compatible with many drives. Go for either, as long as your drives can read the type you choose.
