For example, the internet has opened up all kinds of new markets, expanded existing markets, and allowed completely new ways of doing business. Companies who couldn't previously compete can now set-up and operate globally cus the internet allows them to cut costs dramatically. The internet could be seen in this way to have expanded and change the global economy enormously. As well as this the internet has done things like significantly opened up access to information and therefore made everything so much more accessable.
You could use the argument that its can only really shift spending around, i.e. how many CD's were sold in 2003, if they found a new way to sell them say door to door would this raise the number of CD's sold or just increase the places you could buy them. What I'm trying to say is I think it may have changed the way we do business but that does not increase the overall level of buisness/money.
