Dialup connections are about 56 Kbps whereas broadband is mosly 512 Kbps so, roughly speaking, it will be 10 times faster. You can get slower broadband (128 or 256 Kbps) and faster broadband (1 Mbps) but 512 is an average and there are loads of other factors to consider when downloading (eg the upload bandwidth of the server you are downloading from).
As a footnote, I have on occasion been able to download songs in less time than it would've taken to listen to them, and I'm on a cable connection. I love it :)
Ive been using 1Mbps roadband for about 6 months now,and I will never ever go back to dial up.I can usually download an mp3 in about 40 seconds, instead of the 15 minutes it took using dial up.If you spend a lot of time downloading stuff,I highly recommend BB.
