This is the latest version of Windows, far better than both XP and Vista. Well worth downloading:

What is wrong with you people?
Lankidoodles, you CAN download these programs for free using things like Bit Torrent or News Leeching but as the 3 saints rather childishly implied it is the same as going into PC World and stealing it off the shelves.
Before you install Windows XP or Vista (Legit or otherwise) make sure your computer hardware / software will work with them.

I can remember reading an article which implied that the number of pirate copies of xp in use were more than those of that were purchased. Microsoft could quite easily stop this but then this would make peolple use the legal free software such as linux, & microsoft would lose its number one world leading status, so all it does is deny non critical updates for which there are plenty of alternatives So all in all yes you probably can use xp for free.............!

Paulst30, I wasn't advocating the use of illegal software, I was simply answering the question which is what we are supposed to do isn't it?
Oh, and can I suggest you brush up on your technical knowledge before giving others advice in future....

how about if you dont want to answer the question, dont post an answer.
Microsoft relies on piracy to a certain extent. If you download a pirate copy of windows, then in a few years time when your older and wiser and buy a new operating system are you going to buy what you already know or something completely different?
