You keep getting a bluescreen and your computer crashes, the blue screen makes mention of a check on disk c having been stopped. You are perplexed? Hehe.. You want to restart the disk check and hope that that solves the problem? You have already tried to manually run the disk check? : Start menu, My computer, Disk C(right click), properties, tools, error checking - check now. You can choose to check now or schedule for the next restart. Have you done this already? Let me know :)
So you can't actually get into windows? Can you enter in safe mode? If you can try this link for info :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823302/en-us
I f you can't, stick in your windows installation disk, start your computer and "repair the windows installation", if that doesn't work then i can only suggest that you get another hard drive, install windows on it, boot from there and then try to retrieve our files from the other disk. Let me know how you get on Michelle.

Try Googling the error, or put AVG in front of the error when you Google. Here is a typical result (bit technical) but it does seem to hint at a CD/DVD drive problem?
