I would like to have a tv with freeview box in an upstairs room, where it isn't possible to go through the main ariel, can I buy a digital ariel or can I just use a normal indoor one. If an indoor digital ariel is ok to use, then can anybody recommend one that is good value and does the job. Many thanks for anyone's help in this.
You will have to make sure that your home is able to receive a freeview signal. I think there is a website that checks your postcode or one of the high street electrical shops can do it.
Even then it may not work as my son found out after trying three different boxes!
as playbill said check you can receive a freeview signal first, if so i bought a firstly an expensive ariel which didn't work at all then i tried a 4.99 digital/analogue ariel from wilkinsons and it works fine
Many thanks for that, I can receive the signal, with a booster downstairs, but if I can get a cheap digital/analogue ariel, that will work then I may as well try that, rather than going for the dearer ariels.
