laptop internet access

I am going to be working away from home and plan to buy a laptop.I will be sharing accommodation and don't want to tie up the phone line (no broadband available).How else can I access the internet using a laptop ?

There are several things you can do 1) Connect your mobile to the laptop and access through that - this can be highly expensive but is grand for checking emails 2) Dual Way satellite systems provide near broadband (some may say faster) always on access - problems with this method is the initial equipment costs a fortune 3) Get a 2nd phone line

One thing to remember with connecting via your mobile is you can use GPRS which only charges you for the amount you download and not time spent on line.

new laptop? buy a centrino or wifi, they built to transmit to internet wirelessly; google these words for more info.
