Spellceck on Outlook Express V6 not working.

I have updated from Windows 98 to Windows XP & transferred al of my e-mails, address book, etc. When i now send new mail i get this message:'Spell check on document was halted, do you want to send anyway?' Under 'Options' then 'Spelling' i have set: Always check spelling before sending. Suggest replacements for misspelled words. How can I get the spell check to work?
