MRI scan rights?

I'm not sure if this question really ought to go in this section but I thought someone with a knowledge of the law might be able to help me. I had an MRI scan on the NHS last month and have since decided to go private as I will have to wait months to see a consultant on the NHS. The private doctor wants to see the MRI scan pictures but the hospital are refusing to hand them over. Do I have any right to take these pictures elsewhere or do they remain the property of the hospital. Thank you in advance.

I had a similar situation and was told they are the property of the NHS. There does not seem any argument about this.

You have a right to see your notes and that includes X rays under the Acess to Medical Records Act

It is a matter of statute law. You are allowed access to your notes

that doesnt mean you can HAVE your notes
but you can have copies

apply to the Hospital Medical Records Officer.

TO have a repeat CT spiral scan for example involves a appreciable x ray dose 24 to 36 Chest X ray's worth.

If you mean, can you have the original without charge, then No you can only have copies and there may be a charge. Because the originals are digital, there is no diminution in quality from repeated copying
