spam emails

Can anyone help? Recently I've noticed a lot of strange emails in my Outlook Express email inbox. Most of them are foreign and I've no idea how they got there. For example, the other day I had 46 emails and 45 of them were 'SPAM' and I had to delete them. Every day a new batch appear!!
Help - they're driving me mad! I've tried adding them to my 'Blocked Senders' list but more just keep on being sent to me! How are they getting my email address and how can I stop them?

Otherwise, I can recommend switching to Thunderbird; a free alternative to Outlook Express that has its own good spam filter.
