World band radio.

I have just received a world band radio as a present. Is there any frequencies which I can tune into which would entertain me, eg, aeroplanes,ships,etc. I live in the south of England.

short answer .... yes

but a depends on what you want .... and also how close you are ... there may also be legal problems!!!

most of the "interesting" stuff is quite short range
look round an airport .... and all the "heads" are camped on the fences listening in

daaarrrrnnn saaaarrrff isn't enough ... you need to be under the flight path
There is a book called passport to worldband radio that is published yearly list times of day and what you might hear on a frequency - it mainly about broadcast radio but it should prove a good starting point
