Strobe Time Limits

Is there a legal time limit for strobe lights at discos in the UK? I know they cannot be left on for ages but how long?

Definitely no legal time limit but I was told when I was Dj'ing that a good mark was to hold your breath when you hit the strobes....when you had to breath again kick them off......was a good rule of thumb.
