I have this awful, irritating Spycrusher programme on my PC, it isn't in my downloaded programmes, but constantly pops up telling me I have trojans and spyware etc and need to download their software to remove them. I use McAfee, AOL and run Windows XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me remove it

I have been advised by cleverer people than I am that you shouldn't download these sudden offers, telling you of dreadful things going to happen to your PC. If you are well covered by others, ignore them. But I did notice that Ad-Aware SE Personal which is already installed in my laptop picked up a Trojan whereas others didn't.

yes, ad-aware can locate and remove spycrusher as other anti-spywares do. anti-virus is not enough these days, you also need to have anti-spyware to prevent all the bad stuff.

in case you wonder, yes, spycrush and spycrusher are the same threat.
