Logging In from start up
Could anyone please help me how to get straight on to the net from start up, without having to open the net icon & typing in a network key?
I have Windows XP (Home), an Edimax IEEE 802.11g Wireless LAN USB adapter, and am on SKY Broadband.
Any help would be appreciated.

Note, I do not have one of these adapters, so the following is a guide:
1) Turn of the Windows Zero Configuration:
right-click the icon in the system tray (typically a big R for your adapter), then select Use RaConfig as Configuration utility.
2) Create a new profile:
You need to create a new profile to attach to your preferred network, entering any security details. There should then be an option to inform it to use this as the default.
This is assuming your adapter supports profiles, I imagine it will. The advantage here is that you can create several profiles with different levels of security if you need to test things, and also profiles for when you visit friends whose networks you wish to connect to, although that is not so beneficial on a desktop !
Hope this helps.
