Sad Face on ipod

This morning a glass bottle broke in my bag and my face dropped to find my precious little ipod nano floating on the pool of ribena at the bottom. I tried to work it every now and again; first it froze and wouldn't turn off, then it suddenly went blank now i've just plugged it in and it showed a picture of a sad ipod. That really can't be good. Please can anyone help me?
