"You Tube" links

I know I'm a grumpy old woman but I'm sick to the back teeth of You Tube links appearing in just about every section. The people who post them usually ask the question "Is this the funniest clip you've ever seen?" I don't see how this qualifies as a question in the spirit of Answerbank. I'm not interested in them and would like to say to these people GET A LIFE!
Am I on my own with this one or does anyone else agree with me?

I have to say though I agree, I think i've only opened about two or three YouTube links since they've introduced this fancy, all singing all dancing gadget on us, and none of them have been on the B&S category (I'm presuming that's the section you're referring to?). Like you, I tend to find that others idea of "funny" is not mine.

Bobtheturkey once likened the constant "look at this youtube link, it's funny" syndrome (and it is a recognised ailment- honestly!) to the dreaded family holiday pics that well meaning friends/family insist on you looking at. Boy was he ever right.....lol

I like and use youtube but I would not inflict corky and the juice pigs on to the unsuspecting ABers.

Just don't see the point at all.

Got to put my views in as well . Agree with you all . If we want to look at You Tube we can watch it ourselves with out being told "you should watch this." Just don't see the point of all the links all on here. I thought this was Questions and Answers but by the way things are going it will soon be YOU TUBE WATCH.

I am another who agrees. I wonder if anyone opens them, they certainly get posted but I am not sure that isn't as far as it gets.
When I want to go to youtube that is where I go and pick what I want to view, I like my taste but I am sure it would be very boring for someone else.

As soon as I see a youtube video posting on here, I give it the big body swerve.
As everyone else has said, if we want to look at the clips, we are all capable of going onto youtube itself. We don't need someone else to guide us to the site.
I have my own taste in music and humour which I would never dare inflict on anyone else.
It is neither funny or amusing, quite boring in fact.
It comes across as children who have just found a new toy. lol

you know you can turn off the you tube links?
just go to "my profile" and change to links instead of embedded. That way you do not have to see other people rubish

i don't agree i am afraid, the you tube links can be useful on some categories like media or music and now that we can actually see what the clip is before we play it i do open more, i am a fan of the idea and thanks mrs_overall but i already have a reasonably decent life ;)

I think I've only ever clicked on two You Tube links since it was introduced, I've not got the patience unless it's instantaneous gratification :) although I really think China should share that Corky vid, I thought I was the only one :)

They are getting a bit too much now. I never look at them and I would'nt expect everyone to look at my favourite links either.
