freeview box affected by neighbours remotes...?
1 Answers
How likely is this? is it possible?
my sisters freeview box, turns itself off and on every 20-30 mins and also turns over to other channels, and appears to be scrolling through.
we wondered if it could be picking up the neighbours remote...?
other than caspar playing silly beggers or a baby with telekinetic powers we can't find a problem, lol
or could the box just be broken, or have a loose connection or something?
anyone know how we can sort this out?
thanks

More than probable faulty. Next door is a no-no as they work on infrared.
What you could do is tape over the little window on the front, usually red plastic with some electrical tape, this will stop any infrared signals controlling the box, If it stays stable you will have to isolate the item causing the problem.
The most probable cause is overheating of the unit. If it is ontop or under another unit try easying it out and place on a book so that air can circulate underneath, if this cures it then either place in another position or buy a box that is not so temperature sensitive.
cheers
