21 Answers
Why do people use Answerbank like a chat room? If you want to talk/insult/flirt with each other why don't you all logon to MSN or another chat room.
This is a great site where we can all really help each other with aquired knowledge, but lots of you are insulting, or mickey taking, or even seem to post false questions.
Lets use the site properly shall we and not abuse it for entertainment value!

Today, after more than 25 years of nearly continuous warfare, the Angolan economy is in disarray and per capita output among the worlds lowest, in fact - for the last three decades. What was once a diversified economy has been gradually destroyed as a consequence of almost uninterrupted war as well as bad policy choices at central level that have resulted in escalating macro-economic instability. In 1975 Angola was self-sufficient in all food crops, the fourth-largest coffee grower in the world, a major producer of sisal and cotton and possessor of the richest fishing grounds in southern Africa.
After independence the government of Angola introduced a Marxist type centrally planned economy, nationalising property and extending state control across most sectors. Attempts at economic reforms in the face of serious imbalances were made but foundered. Faced with deteriorating economic and social conditions the government adopted a number of bold measures during, giving into long-standing International Monetary Fund demands and which were set to result in a substantial shift in economic policy. The government established a national emergency programme of humanitarian assistance to people displaced by the war and introduced measures to improve transparency in the management of government funds.
In the meantime the dung beetle and their famrers were just left in social isolation to scoop up all the poop.
Oops, sorry for chatting isis.

If you look at the blue banner along the top of the page when you are in your home page, it says that you can ask and answer questions and discuss topics of interest. So, this is not just a question & answer site.
You don't need to go into the more chatty questions. And it is amazing what people find a topic of interest! Personally, I don't mind having a look at some of the banter, though I don't get involved that much. I would never join up to a chat site.
I think that there is room for everybody here, but I get more annoyed with intolerance and rudeness rather than anything else.

is it not human nature to some extent ( your point on entertainment value) dependent on the context and situation?(not nice but...)is it about human interaction?ways of communicating? as 'ab' is on line people perform the dual task of using speech as writing and vice versa and as always it is not face to face so therefore it is within an artificial setting and context, the wonders of the net!can this be reasonably censored?
neo, searches only search the topic you are in not the whole site - unfortunately.
I agree with isis, a bit here and there and when in context with the question is ok, but sometimes the utter dirge being posted is ridiculous and tedious.
unfortunately isis, there is nowt you can do about it. you can report it if you like, but i wouldn't bother - they are like wallpaper bubbles - one disappears, another pops up.

One persons chat is another persons grooming, one mans fun is anothers sexual misdemeanour, a debate can turn into a chat or a squabble, and some people just dont have anything to ask other than which AB is the best/worst etc. It is difficult to determine sometimes what is just chat and what is genuine debate, but often the same names turn up in the same categories looking for a spat with another same name same category ABer just to throw insults and encourage other to take sides.
They say that bullies always come in fives as they share a fifth of a personality and a fifth of courage each. That rings true with some AB bullies and also with all those aliases that keep appearing to ask provocative questions or to make inane statements for a few minutes of headlines. But that is the internet for you.
Either ignore them until they go away, or report it as chat and let the Mother (AB Ed) decide. Thats all you can do really.

Frankly, it is difficult to believe that some of the questions posed on this site are from people who have internet access (which they obviously do have or they wouldn't be here) - they are so inane and so trivial. In the time it takes them to post a question they could have Googled and found the answer.
