I was just reading another question re blocking ads and I tried to install http://adblockplus.org/en/ as suggested but I keep getting a message saying Windows does not recognise this file. Any suggestions as tohow I can install it. Simple answers please as I am a bit of a technophobe!
It is great how helpful people are on this site. I read through the questions and answers each day and have learnt a lot. Thanks to everyone.

You need to be using FireFox as your browser, not Internet Explorer.
Thanks to recent helpful advice on these pages I have just installed Firefox browser and Adblock - as well as keeping Internet Explorer that I've used for about 10 years. It's lookng good but takes a bit of getting used to, with lots of advice to digest on various aspects, but must say my first impressions are good and I intend to persevere. Good luck if you decide to try Firefox.

Have just tried Firefox and got this message at the top of the adblock homepage.

Firefox prevented this site(adbockplus.org) from asking you to install software on your computer
