CD burning

What do i need to do to allow cd's i have burned onto CD-RW to be played on a normal cd player? Do i need some other type of disk,or some program download? Please help as I am simple!!!

Well I am pretty simple too, but I thought that cd players are either designed to play cd-rw or not, and if not there's nothing you can do about it except write to cd-r discs or buy a new cd player that will play cd-rw. We have an old Bose cd player that won't even play cd-r's.

I don't think it's a software issue.

I think, and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, that you can't play CD-RW's in many older CD machines. The light wavelength they reflect is too different to that of normal CD's.

CD-R's reflect a similar wavelength of light to normal CD's and can therefore be played. You could just burn to CD-R (they are quite cheap), or invest in a newer CD player.

I think the problem has been answered by kags and Headtime but hope this too may help. After buying a Cd-Rewriter, in my innocence I bought 20 CD-RW discs thinking they would be perfect for music. Well they were, but only on my pc, not anywhere else. I had to buy a stack of CD-R's instead and use the others for data - or give them away! The CD-R's work perfectly on our very ancient music centre as well as my son's new CD player. Confusing, ain't it?
