Thanks Ethel and Chris re noisy laptop

I would like to say thank you to Ethel and Chris who responded when I asked about my granddaughter's noisy laptop. They both hit the nail on the head although my son and I chickened out of opening it up ourselves the fact that both of you pointed to the fan needing a clean was spot on I think my son was concerned it was a major/expensive job but following your advice he asked our local man to look at it thus resolving the issue simply by removing a load of dust and no need for a new fan - thanks again

Excellent! I am glad it is sorted. Out of interest, do the laptop users smoke?

No the laptop users do not smoke Ethel although the mother of my granddaughter does. Her mother does not use the laptop although her former partner did and that was a year or more ago. It is mainly used at her Dad's home as Mum no longer has a broadband connection.
