maildrop not opening

I am having problems with outlook 2003 as follows:


Task 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210E) : 'Your mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another e-mail message is being delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it. The server responded: -ERR [IN-USE] Unable to open maildrop'

This means I can't send/receive - has any one else had (and resolved) this problem?

Sounds like a big email is stuck on your server. Go to Wanadoo's home page and log in with your email addy and passord. Check your email on there and delete the mail that's stuck. That should clear the congestion

We had tried that and wanadoo was running free and clear. However the problem has resolved itself - thank you for your interest, it might not have been the solution this time but it would certainly have been worth trying if I hadn't already.
