How do I newwork a printer?

I want to but one good quality printer that I can print from my lap top and my kids can print from their P.C's. We have a network for the computers how do I set up a printer in the same way.
Any tips please?

Do you have a router to share your broadband connection ?

If so you can buy a network ready printer and plug the network cable from the printer to the router.

I think most network printers are laser rather than inkjet, although you can get a network ready b/w laser for �100 or less, a color one is of course more.

A network ready printer often has the letter "n" after the number, like this HP here which is 2600n

Or, if the printer you want is a USB printer, you can get a print server.

One such, fairly well-priced option, is the Apple Airport Express. It lets you share your printer wirelessly, as well as other options like sending music to your hifi, and acting as a router if you need.
