Cannot init Direct3D

When I download games from websites like Shockwave or Big Fish Games the game downloads then just before it starts a box comes up saying Cannot init Direct3D any ideas on what I could do? Thanks to anyone. x x x

Direct3D is part of the DirectX software suite. If your PC can't initialize Direct3D, it probably either means that you haven't got a recent enough version of Direct X installed, or that your graphics card isn't compatible with the Direct X requirements.

Try installing the latest version of DirectX:
