I need to type out a script on Word, and I need the stage directions to be slightly IN from the left hand border- you know, on a typewriter you would use the tab key. The speech needs to be on the left hand border.

Any idea how I can set the stage directions an inch or two inwards without messing with the bar on top?
Thanks!

Hi Scarlett :o)

Hope this is what you are wanting;

If you go to FILE then scroll down and click on PAGE SETUP you can alter the margins by increasing and decreasing the size.So if you increase the left margin slightly your script will start further over.

Hope this helps :o)
Go to Format, Tabs

set one for the distance in you want - play around with it to find the exact distance. Don't forget to Save the tab - click Set and OK.

This sets up a tab point for you to use as you type
