No central heating and cannot find motorised valve!!
3 Answers
Hello, a couple of months back I had my annual boiler service, but as it's summer I didn't think to check the heating still worked after he left...Anyway this might be coincidence, but basically my Mexico Ideal Boiler (conventional) seems to be firing up okay and I have hot water, but all the radiators are stone cold! It was working before the service engineer came..but as above, could be coincidence. I believe the system is an indirect vented system with 2 tanks in loft & hot water cylinder. Cylinder is on 2nd floor, boiler on ground. The Pump is making a noise, so assume is working, but pipes either side are cold. i have checked it's not jammed. I have had a useless engineer out who said it might be the motorised valve - however he cannot locate this in boiler cupboard or in aering cupboard - so he has left unable to help. Can anyone suggest what else it could be and is it possible I have no valve? Checked and all radiators up high, all been bleed & main thermostat turned up (Boiler also firing up okay & water getting hot so must be ok). Thanks in advance :)

Therefore it is possible that you may have another pump hidden somewhere under the floorboards that circulates the heating side of the system that is not working properly (failed or siezed) etc... or the room stat is faulty and not telling the pump to start.
