I have found a form I need to fill in online which is a PDF but it won't let me fill in the form (just get the little 'grabby' hand) is there a way I can save the PDF file or access it so I can complete it by typing in the responses rather than print it and fill it in by hand.
TIA

When you open a pdf file you are looking at a sort of photograph, not a text file like a Word document.

You need a pdf editor - I bought mine, but this is a free one. Not tried it so don't know how good it is:

Do you really have to complete the form online? If so, the website should provide you with the means to do so. It should provide a page that lets you key in your details and submit them.

A PDF file is an easy way to distribute documents. It may be that the website does expect you to download the form, print it off and send it in. Many documents still require a signature for legal reasons (eg. job application, insurance claim) so they have to be completed by hand.

As Ethel says, there are PDF readers (that allow you to view a PDF file) and PDF editors (that allow you to create or edit PDF files).

If it's a form, why not look for or ask for a Word version that you can complete on your own PC?

I can edit pdf forms - fill them in on my pc - very easily with my pdf editor.

Of course I sign the forms by hand, but they do look much better done on computer.

Thanks Guys. It's actually an application form for a friend and although she could print it and fill it in by hand it would look better printed.
