Adware.MainSearch Help!!!!!
1 Answers
I will try and keep this as brief as possible! I run Windows XP with Norton AV software. My IE is being hijacked and my default home page is changed and I am getting lots of pop ups. When I scan with NAV it tells me that I have a threat in the form of Adware.MainSearch, I have followed their exact method of removal to get rid of the .dll file(different dll file everytime), but as soon as I reboot it happens all over again but with a diffent dll file. I have run Adaware and Spybot but with no such joy. I would appreciate any help as this is driving me up the wall!!!!!!
Thanks in advance for help given.

Guessing that there may be an installer program still running on your machine at every boot up causing this problem to re-occur, you can check the start up by accessing MSCONFIG form the RUN command, and checking if there is an obvious program that could cause this problem, and remove the appropriate checks where necessary..(Not recommended to fiddle with this folder of you don't know what these commands do !) Sorrry if this may be a bit vague, But if you're running IE6 then get a Google Toolbar, which includes possibly the best pop-up stopper.
