Time display on e-mail message

When I get an e-mail from one of my friends, the time it was sent is displayed as an hour in advance of when it actually was sent, if you see what I mean! They send it, say, at 10.00 am, but when it arrives with me moments later, the 'sent' time is displayed as 11.00 am. The time on their PC clock is accurate, so why is the time on the e-mail message out by an hour? Is there a separate clock setting in Microsoft Outlook which needs to be adjusted? This is bugging us both, so any help anyone can give will be gratefully received! Thank you!

Are you using MS Outlook for say a, Yahoo or talk21 account. Because they have seperate time settings that you have to adjust through their browser settings. ie log onto your account though say www.talk21.com then change the time settings after you have logged in........... It may well not be set to GMT..........

Thanks for your answer Paul. The thing is, these are e-mails sent via our work PCs - we both work for different organisations. I've no idea, therefore, what sort of account we would be using!

the time sent is recorded on the sending mail server, since it is usually a safe assumption that a mail server will have a more accurate time that your PC. In this case however, this is not true, and it is the sending mail server that is an hour out.
