i don`t know if i still have firewall on my p.c.... how can i find out??? and if not , can anybody recommend a good free firewall i can download... thanks in advance

To check: go to control panel and then security centre. If you have a firewall it can be activated from there.

thanks howlie;;; i`ve tried that and it says my firewall is turned off... i`ve tried to turn it on but it won`t let me... should i go to a free down load

Agree with MAC if you have Windows XP SP2 then nthe windows firewall is on by default.It is limited in it's capabilities
If you install another one you need to make sure this is turned off or you will cause conflicts

Comodo is just about the best there is according to independant tests - and it's free!!
