Ford Mondeo - how do I indetify a fuse blowing problem ?
Hi.
I have a problem with the fuse for my Ford radio.
I have the 5000 model, with CD changer under the passenger seat.
The car is a 1999 S Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X.
The fuse is fuse number 36 and rated as 15A (light blue).
As soon as you try a new fuse, it blows instantly - as soon as you put it in.
I've tried new fuses with the radio head unit plugged and unplugged but the same thing happens.
No other fuses seem to have gone, though I have only had the car a few days. Everything else does seem to work fine, though.
I am guessing that there might be a short somewhere. But would other fuses and systems not be affected too?
I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this problem?
Does anyone know where a short might be likely in my car?
Is the car safe like this?
Can I fit another stereo without using this fuse via another way? If so, would that be safe?
I would appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,
Darren
