Blocking Popups for this site caused problem

Just for ur info....I downloaded the ms toolbar to stop popups and found I was not able to post on AB so I then set the options to allow popups for this site and lo and behold I can post again!!!!

Yep, blue, same applies to the Google pop-up stopper. I have to disable that to post a question, but am able to answer a question without doing so!

I have had the same problem, but hadn't downloaded any pop-up stoppers, so I don't know where it came from. I solved it by restoring my settings to last week. How could I locate a pop-up stopper if I get another one????

A lot of firewall and antivirus programs (among others) come with pop-up blockers built in these days. Generally, you can override the "blocking" with a key press, so that you can still post/answer questions on sites like this. Note to AB Ed: not that I would block the adverts on this site, of course!

i would [block them] this is the most spy and ad junk ridden website i ever accessed ever. [but its worth it for the great memberbase] :-)

A good pop up blocker would still allow pop ups that you authorize (ie clicking a link). Mozilla and Firefox do a good job with it. Ditch IE =)
