Hi All,

I have an uncle who is currently receiving treatment in China for an illness. The problem he has is understanding them.

I'm sure you can get voice recongnition translators (like the sony TalkMan for PSP) to make the whole process a lot easier. All i seem to be able to find is software for a PC, there must be a handheld alternative available - it would need to be able to understand and translate chinese into english and vise versa.

I have trawled the internet only to draw blanks, i don;t think cost is really a consideration so any ideas will be much help.

Thanx

I remember the handheld translator being showcased on a tv programme a few years ago.

It was an April Fools hoax. There are some systems currently in development but as far as I know they are not on sale to the general public. The cost really would be astronomical at this time, and I would not trust such a thing for translating medical terms.

It will be cheaper and more accurate to employ a translator by the hour.
