Is there a correct way to respond to a wedding invitation? Although I am the best man, the brides father has insisted on sending a invitation. I need to respond in the correct way

you can buy acceptance cards which seems to be the appropriate way to respond. Thn the organisers have a concrete, written down number
Although you will obviously be attending, it is correct ettiquette that you are formally invited in writing, and that ytou respond in writing - as advised, with a card which you should return in the same way as yours was delivered - either by hand or by post.

It's nice that some people care enough to do everything the right way.
You should reply in the third person .. i.e. Fred thanks Mr & Mrs Bloggs for their kind invitation to the wedding of Flossie and Jim, and is delighted to attend.
andy is right ~ my mother in law was most put out when she recieved a formal invitation to our wedding!

My parents were fine about it ~ in fact they loved the fact that not only had we done things in the 'proper' way, they had a keepsake for their album :o)
