I tried watching a couple of DVDs on my computer, and they are both too dark. How can I adust the 'lighting'? There are no obvious (to me) ways of doing this on screen.

Hi Stewey - haven't you got a brightness/contrast button near the bottom of your computer?

Ice-Maiden, I have a + and a - button on my monitor.
Don't know which player you're using, but in WMP you go view-enhancements-video settings.

Or you can right-click the desktop and choose settings-advanced.

Maybe you have a graphics icon down by the clock?
