Samsung phone problem

My daughter's phone keeps resetting. When you switch it on it just keeps searching for the sim and then starts to power up a bit. It seems to be acting like a pc with a virus ie gets so far in the set up process then restarts, any ideas how to fix it?

it sounds as if the handset is faulty. maybe you could take it to a phone shop for advice/ repair
