Flash .ocx error

I keep getting this error message popping up when I open internet explorer. The message just says that it is a Flash.ocx add on error, and I need to close IE.This has only been happening since my system rebooted a couple of days ago after an automatic update. I have tried to disable the Flash .ocx, but when I tried to open IE it says I need to enable Flash.ocx to go to my homepage. I have absolutely no idea what I need to do to sort this out. Any advice would be most appreciated.
