failing outgoing e-mail

I have sky as my internet server and use outlook to send and receive my e-mails. Since sky have changed their e-mail to google I cannot send e-mails from outlook. I have changed all my settings as instructed, e-mail are received Ok but outgoing ones get stuck in the outbox and won't go any further. I can't face ringing sky again as they persist in having you go through endless deletions and reinstallations and stuff you have done already several hundred times but they still insist you do it again. I am sure there must be hundreds of you out there with sky, is anyone else having the same problem and how did you resolve it. Using the sky online site works perfectly but I find it annoying not to be able to use outlook
