You will need a plug adaptor to convert the 2-pin plug into a 3-pin or use a 'figure of 8' lead available from most hardware shops.
Or just charge it from your computers USB/Firewire lead.
I have a US bought ipod too - just be careful if you get a plug adaptor, as I did that and the design of the charging unit is such that it doesn't actually fit into the adaptor. You'd be better off with the figure of 8 lead Headtime mentioned - this is basically just a power lead that will fit into most small appliances (I borrowed one from a radio) and plug that directly into the charging unit. Charging it direct through the firewire/USB takes longer, but is much easier.
I have just bought a 15 gig ipod from the states and it is due to arrive any time now. I did this because i found it was considerably cheaper and i was wondering if a transformer was not needed which u guys say u dont need one. Also, by a figure of 8 cable do you mean the ones you get in the back of a ps2 with the plug at one end and the dodgy shape at the other end? plz rply asap
