Mini tramolines with safety bar

Has anyone recently bought a mini trampoline or rebounder with a safety bar please? Or, has anyone used one minus a bar but simply held on to the back of a chair instead - is this successful? Am looking for a rebounder which my elderly mother could use - she used one at the hospital with a bar - but I can only find one on the internet which has a bar and just wonder how essential it is. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

If your mother's elderly, then I assume that once she got on a trampoline, she'd wobble quite a bit. I would've thought that a safety bar would've been vital. Using the back of a chair could be dangerous, as it could tip over, resulting in a nasty injury. Couldn't your mother use some other form of exercise - such as an exercise bike, maybe?

Many thanks. She has knee problems so a bike is no good. She first tried the rebounder at the hospital because they said this was the best form of exercise to keep the knees supple but it is proving very difficult to find any with a stabilising bar.

Normally the ones with the bars are designed for small children and have a weight limit on them. Is she seeing a physiotherapist? If so, she could ask them where she can get one with a stabiliser bar on it for herself.
If it came to having to use one without a bar, she could push a chair against a wall, then push the trampoline against the chair and hold on. That way the chair wont be able to tip over.
Try contacting a phsyiotherapist or doctor for advise first though.
