Landlines rather than mobile numbers for pet ads

I am trying to encourage my local newspaper not to publish classified adverts of puppies for sale with only mobile phone numbers given.

They have asked me to advise them of any Code of Conduct that stipulates landlines rather than mobile numbers for such ads.

Do anyone have any info on this that you could advise me please?

Our local Yellow Free Ads will only accept ads from people with landline numbers, although you can put a mobile number in the ad.

Don't know of any regulations, but perhaps you could suggest they insist on having a landline number on their files.

I support your action. I am always weary about adverts that only have a cell number.

Tell them that's how the criminal fraternity advertise their puppies for fighting dogs. If they do not comply, you have no alternative but to include them in the list as so in the list that you are preparing to go the the KCs

There is an ad in our local Tesco store - somebody trying to sell staffie puppies and quoting only a mobile number.

Anybody buying a puppy this way is asking for trouble.

I think it all boils down to the old saying......A dog is for life not just for christmas.The banning of all adverts at christmas would be the best for the poor animals and better still for the money makers at that game.
