connecting mac to windows laptop
4 Answers
I have a mac at the moment, but have had a few issues over the years like some software isn't mac compatible and also it has no dvd rewriter so when I use the laptop with in integral imove/idvd I cannot then tranfer it to dvd ...so annoying.
I have purchased a usb drum fit for xmas for myself but it is windows compatible only and the sound from the drum kit is played through the pc speakers/sound card - will use headphones. I was thinking of getting some form of windows pc for home to expand a little. Due to the fact I rent a property I would quite like something small like a laptop.
But wondered if I was to get a windows dvd rewritable laptop running xp or vista can I connect it to the mac so I can burn my current home movies across, or would the laptops not talk to each other, I would probably be using idvd????
Any other advise about buying laptops at the moment would be good, Ideally I want to spend say 500 I see there is a new sony laptop for that price, is it any good. I plan to buy a hard drive camcorder as well which would be mac and windows compatible, any thoughts here! Sould I just buy an external dvd rewriter - I have failed to find one in 5yrs, which one??? Can I play the sound through a laptop the same as a pc, do they both have soundcards - don't understand what one is.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Buy a cheap external DVD rewriter, and then you can burn your iDVD stuff that way. 35 here:

As for the drum kit, I don't know. But if it's relying on Windows-only software, then it's Windows-only.
