I have 2 pcs and have managed to network to the extent that both can get on to the internet at the same time. However, I want to have both pc s using the same printer. I have a netgear wireless router, and my printer is a lexmark - which connects to the pc via a usb. I also don't know how to share files - I have been transferring them via a flash drive.
Should the printer be connected to the router, and if so where can I get an adaptor as the router does not have a usb slot.
I know this is a question that is often raised, but somehow never in quite the same way!

You want a print server.

there is actually another cheaper option - but fo3's suggestion is better.

you can just share the printer like a folder .... problem there is ... the PC has to be left on so that other pcs can access it.
(which lexmark model?)

the server option means that only the printer needs to be on
