wireless woes

i just built a computer and connected to the internet wirelessly. but i cant seem to access the actual game rooms of yahoo and also certain other web sites that are interactive. can someone please explain to me what it is that i am doing or am not doing. any response would be appreciated

You may need to do some "port forwarding". If these sites send their traffic to certain ports on your PC then you'll have to instruct your firewall/router NOT to block this traffic as it would do by default. Basically, the firewall works by stopping all traffic apart from some standard stuff (e.g. port 80 for web surfing) and you need to manually allow this other traffic if it isn't to one of the standard ports. Or it could be something else altogether! ;-)
