Monolgue...Where is it from?!
1 Answers
It mentions Radio City and the Rockettes alot. I have to learn it for National Youth Theatre, but I really want to know what it is from. It goes:
So the day after I turned 18, i kissed my folks goodbye, hopped on a trailways bus-and headed for the bog bad apple. Cause I was gonna be a rockette. Oh, Yeah, Lets get one thing straight, I never heard of "The Red Shoes", I never saw "The Red Shoes", I don't give a **** about "The Red Shoes". I decided to be a rockette beacause a girl from my home town-Louella Heiner-Actually got out and made it big in New York. And she was a Rockette. I mean, she came back one time and they through her a parade. A goddamn parade! I twirled a friggin' baton for 2 hours in the rain! Unfortunately though, she got knocked up over christmas. Merry Christmas- and never made it back to Radio City.
That was my plan, New York, New York. Only there was one minor problem. I was ugly as sin. I was ugly, skinny, homely, unattractive and flat as a pancake. Get the picture?
It carries on but thats all I can remember, the monologue is at school but its a print out so I have no idea what play/film its from, and neither doe smy drama teacher.
I cant find it anywhere on the internet, can anyone help me?
