Audio cassette housings

Having melted a number of cassettes in the sun, I have cannibalised every possible old one to replace the housing and put the old tape in it, but have now run out and need some more. It only works with the ones which unscrew, and they even have a technical name, cassette shells. But I haven't been able to find anyone who sells them on their own and am not wasting a pound a go to chuck out perfectly good tape to replace it with mine by buying complete ones to use.

Have you tried Tapeline?

They offer all manner of kit in regard of tape duplication but not explicitly cassette shells for sale by themselves (even though they do offer the choice of screwed or welded shells for duplication purposes). They may be amenable to selling the shells only.

Have a browse aound `Charity Shops` they sell loads of old tapes which you might find useful

Thanks Kempie, I think I'll try them even if I have to chuck some tape away for those prices.
I do go to charity shops but didn't have the heart to destroy something someone else might want to hear, plus they aren't usually particularly cheap either.

Yuo may have solved your problem now but if not then join your local 'freecycle' group - www.freecycle.org - and just ask for old cassettes people are throwing away. someone is bound to have some, and it's free!
