Try switching the flash off before taking photo and using available light. On many of the new cameras you can increase the effective film speed to enable the camera to use a higher shutter speed in poor light, thus avoiding camera shake. Red eye will not then be a problem as the flash causes it! An old tip also is to get the person to look at a light source just before taking photo, this closes the iris down to a pinpoint. Hope this helps.
thankyou both for your answers..
It only seems to be a problem when taking pictures of my grandchildren, which is one of the main reasons for me having a camera.
I will download the Picasa.
Yorkylass,
I have downloaded picaso2.
When I select red eye it tells you to hold and drag mouse over the eye and a box with selections will appear...am I doing something wrong? as i don't get that.
This is how I do it.
Choose the picture and select view and edit. Then increase the size by using the slide at the bottom. You can then see the eye better for working on. Select redeye and place the cursor at the top of the iris. Left click and hold, then drag over the iris. This is when the box appears and as soon as you release it that is when the redeye is removed.
Hope this helps. I think the only thing you are probably doing wrong is right clicking instead of left.
